Join Roots Press for a three-hour printmaking workshop to create your own edition of a 2 colour Risograph print, an environmentally friendly and low-cost print process.

Whether you are interested in publishing your own limited-edition prints, zines or cards, or simply want to explore, using mark making and drawing techniques along with collage and photography, RISO offers plenty of scope for individual creativity.

During this workshop, we will Introduce you to the print process, check out printed examples, Inks and papers along with instruction on how to use the Risograph printer. We will then create original collages or drawings which will be directly scanned onto the printer for duplication into a 2-colour RISO print.

You are invited to leave your laptop at home for this one as we will be making original collages to be scanned directly onto the printer but if you prefer to work digitally, you are welcome to bring it along.

This workshop is the perfect introduction to Riso and will enable you to understand this unique and quirky print process which offers endless self-publishing possibilities.

Once you have completed the workshop, you will be able to join our membership and use the open access print sessions to print your own work.
