Interested in reproducing your own artwork or ideas, using a hands on, environmentally friendly and low cost process? Riso offers plenty of scope for individual creativity, by bridging the gap between screen print and offset printing, multiple copies of your artwork can be easily produced for art prints, cards, posters, booklets etc.

This workshop is the perfect introduction to Riso and will enable you to understand this unique and quirky print process which offers endless self publishing possibilities. We will Introduce you to the design studio – where you’ll see examples of risograph prints, Inks and papers along with a demonstration of how the Risograph printer works.

You will then be free to work on your own collages using ink, pens, stamps, print outs etc. We have ink and collage materials you are welcome to use, but feel free to bring along your own images, type and illustrations or any black and white mark making tools you enjoy using.

If you are bringing illustrations or print outs, they will need to be in greyscale and fit within A3 or (28cm x 40cm). You are invited to leave your laptop at home for this one as we will be scanning our work directly onto the printer, but are also welcome if you prefer to work digitally to bring it along.

You will transfer your originals to the Risograph and print an edition of 10 x A3 sized two colour prints of your designs to take away with you. For printing, you will be able to choose your two ink colours, 120gsm recycled paper is provided, with the option to print further copies or use coloured or thicker paper at an additional cost on the day.

No experience necessary, this workshop is suitable for professionals and beginners alike. Once you have attended this workshop, you will then be able to return to the design studio during our regular Open Access Print Sessions and book an hours printing session to complete further print projects.
