A five hour cosy workshop for both absolute beginners, AND those looking for a ‘next step’ in their linocut adventure…
For beginners, I will introduce you to Linocut relief printmaking and the techniques and tools used. We will experiment with tools and surfaces, design and image-transfer, to each create a unique carved block to print (both by hand and table-top press) and take home.
For those who are looking for a ‘next step’ in linocut printmaking, we will re-familiarise ourselves with tools and techniques and then design and carve a block to print in 2 colours using the ‘jigsaw’ technique (where sections of the block are cut out with a scalpel, inked in a different colour and put back together like a jigsaw puzzle before printing).
All materials included. Please bring an apron/clothes that don’t matter and any images or ideas you might have… and an open mind. 6 participants max.
